Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 flight DL1418 experienced an uncontained engine failure as it was climbing out from Atlanta Airport, bound for Orlando on 5 Sept, 2018

The flight DL1418 with 121 passengers and 6 crew onboard took off from Atlanta Airport at 11:04 pm and reported right engine failure in eight minutes into flight.

The crew arrested the climb at 18,100 feet after a loud bang heard originating from the No.2(right) PW2037 engine, and returned to Atlanta Airport. The flight made an emergency landing on runway 09R at 11.32pm safely.

No injuries reported.

The Delta incident is at least the fourth uncontained engine failure in U.S since August 2016. NTSB is investing the incident.
